what sets us apart..

At Northdown Butchers, above all else, we value the working relationship we have with our farmers — from field to slaughter to counter, we know every stage of the process. It's a level of skill and attention you simply won't find behind a supermarket counter. We take great pride in traditional butchery, from making our own gluten-free sausages to dry-curing our own nitrite-free bacon and making our own black pudding in-house. Unlike the pre-packaged, mass-produced meat lining supermarket shelves, everything here is prepared with genuine craft, care, and a deep understanding of the animal from start to finish. It's the difference between meat that's just processed and meat that's properly butchered — and it's why our customers keep coming back for quality they can taste.

meat the team

William — Head Butcher & Owner
William spent years honing his craft in some of London's top restaurant kitchens, where he first learned the art of whole carcass butchery. In 2021, he moved to Margate and retrained as a butcher under Lizzy Douglas at The Black Pig in Deal

Ashley — Butcher
Ashley joined the team in 2026, bringing a wealth of experience from a career spent cheffing in some of Kent's most respected kitchens, including Bottega Caruso in Margate and The Sportsman in Seasalter.
